The famous one-act opera by Mascagni is taking place on easter morning in a small village in Sicily. It is the story of Santuzza and her beloved Turiddu. The „Intermezzo sinfonico“ symbolizes the peaceful easter morning with the worshippers going to church – one of the most intimate and wonderful moments of the whole opera.
