L’Adieu ist dem finnischen Bassisten und Komponisten Teppo Hauta-Aho gewidmet und gehört zum Zyklus `Histoires´. Es hat einen sehnsuchtsvollen und melancholischen Charakter mit einer lyrischen und rhapsodischen Solostimme. Die Klavierbegleitung ist kontrastierend und im Gegensatz dazu mit seinen Akkorden eher schlicht gehalten.

Belonging to the cycle „Histoires“, L’Adieu is dedicated to the Finnish bassist and composer Teppo Hauta-Aho. The piece is full of longing and melancholy and has a lyrical, rhapsodian solo part. The piano accompaniment is often contrasting and with its chords rather simple.
