Busy Bassists sind Charakterstudien dreier Bassisten. Alle drei Sätze haben schnelle Tempi - selbst der vermeintlich langsame Mittelsatz Lingerer. Rhythmisch erinnern Maniac und Joker an südamerikanische Tanzmusik. Ungewöhnlich ist dabei sicherlich die „Percussion-Einlage“ im dritten Satz.

Double Bassists are often seen as slow or clumsy. However. bassists in „Busy Bassists“ are different: it is about funny, bright and quick fellows. It is written in three movements which include typical elements of jazz. Unusual is the percussion session in the 3rd movement: Without any additional instruments there is an exciting and rhythmical fireworks.
