Schubert komponierte mehr als vierhundert Tänze für Klavier solo, die in verschiedenen Bänden veröffentlich wurden. Im Angedenken hat Schuberts 200. Geburtstag wurden sechs Tänze, die überwiegend in den Jahren 1825-27 geschrieben wurden, für drei Kontrabässe arrangiert.

Schubert composed more than four hundred dances for piano solo, published in different volumes. These six country dances evoke the style and elegance of early 19th-century ­Vienna. The music is lively, rhythmic and full of vitality and hark back to the German Dances of Haydn and Mozart. Beautifully transcribed with much to enjoy for each player.
