Queen Bee ist ein spritziges Stück im 6/8-Takt, das sich sehr gut als Zugabe eignet. Hier ist nicht der „Hummelflug“ von Rimski-Korsakow verarbeitet, sondern hier ist eine eigenständige brilliante Komposition für Kontrabass und Klavier entstanden.
Nach einem ostinaten Eingangsmotiv folgt ein tänzerisch-melodischer Teil, der gute Laune verbreitet. Der Kontrabasspart geht bis zur 7. Lage und ist in mittlerem Schwierigkeitsgrad gehalten.

Queen Bee is a lively piece in 6/8 time – perfectly suitable as an encore. Not to be confused with “Flight of the Bumblebee“ by Rimski-Korsakow, it is a sparkling original composition for double bass and piano.
An ostinato beginning is followed by a dance-like and melodic section that will lift the spirits. Queen Bee has a medium level of difficulty and the double bass part goes up to 7th position.
