Lament for O. wurde im Angedenken an den befreundeten Bassisten Ovidiu Badila komponiert. Das einsätzige bluesartige Stück beginnt mit einer Kadenz von Bass 2. Bass 1 entwickelt das musikalische Material weiter über eine stark synkopierte Bass-Linie. Bass 1 spielt dabei eine klagende Melodie in hoher Lage über eine riffartige Begleitung von Bass 2.

Lament for O. was composed in memory of bassist Ovidiu Badila. Arco and Pizzicato contrast in this blues-like work, consisting of one movement. An extended pizzicato cadenza for bass 2 will appeal to players comfortable in classical and jazz styles. There are many contrasting moods and sections with high legato melodies above a jazzy pizzicato accompaniment.
