Prière ist das erste Stück aus dem Zyklus "Histoires". Der französische Titel soll an die "Musique de Salon" des späten 19. Jahrhunderts erinnern. Die Tonsprache bleibt der Romantik verbunden, passt sich aber doch in Rhythmus, Harmonik und Melodik einer moderneren Zeit an.

Prière is the first piece of the cycle „­Histoires“. The French title is meant to be a reminder of the „Musique de Salon“ from the late 19th century. The musical language is related to the time of romance; but rhythm, harmony and melody adapt it to modern times.
